About Maafolhey.

Maafolhey is one private two-bedroom holiday home on the inhabited island of Ukulhas. It is rented as the whole property to one travelling party, never as separate rooms.

It accommodates up to 6 guests and includes a private kitchen, living and dining space, a washing machine, Wi-Fi and housekeeping.

The format

One booking covers the complete house.

Both bedrooms and every shared space belong to the same booking. No second guest booking uses the kitchen, the living room or the dining area while you are staying.

That gives a family, a group of friends or a longer-stay household one private base, with separate sleeping rooms inside the same property.

Day to day

The stay is residential, and it is still looked after.

No breakfast or meal plan is included. The private kitchen means guests cook here when they want to and use the island’s restaurants when they would rather.

A washing machine is available, and the living and dining area gives the group private space outside the bedrooms.

Housekeeping is provided throughout the stay. Routine housekeeping is every three days. Cleaning and linen changes are also available on request.

Getting to the house

The journey to the house is assisted.

A colleague meets guests at Velana International Airport and helps with the scheduled speedboat. At Ukulhas harbour, a colleague meets the arriving guests, helps with luggage and walks them to the house for check-in.

Schedules and availability are confirmed for the travel date, because services and sea conditions change.

The setting

The house is part of the village.

Ukulhas is a compact inhabited island about a kilometre long. Local homes, shops, restaurants, cafés and guest accommodation share the same island — which is a different arrangement from staying inside a separate resort.
