Two months in one place is a different decision from extending a normal holiday. The house needs to support ordinary days, the total cost needs to remain clear, and the island must work as a base rather than a short stop.
Maafolhey's 60-night offer is built for that decision: one entire private home in Ukulhas, a fixed accommodation price of USD 7,500 and enough time to settle into a slower routine.
What the 60-night offer actually is
Maafolhey is one entire private two-bedroom home, rented to one travelling party at a time. The offer provides:
- 60 occupied nights;
- USD 9,000 standard value, based on 60 nights at USD 150;
- USD 7,500 accommodation price;
- 50 paid nights and 10 complimentary nights;
- both bedrooms, a private kitchen, living room, dining space and washing machine;
- Wi-Fi and housekeeping throughout the stay;
- accommodation for up to six guests.
The message is straightforward: stay 60 nights and pay for 50. The 10 complimentary nights are part of the package economics. They are not assigned to the beginning, end or any other calendar dates.
Green Tax, scheduled speedboat transfers, meals and personal spending are separate.
How payment works
A 15% non-refundable deposit of USD 1,125 is required within seven days after reservation confirmation. The deposit is paid by bank transfer, with payment instructions provided after confirmation. If Maafolhey provides a card payment link for the deposit, the 3.5% physical-POS processing fee does not apply.
The remaining 85%, USD 6,375, is payable at check-in or earlier if preferred.
If the reservation is cancelled before check-in, the deposit remains non-refundable. No additional accommodation cancellation charge applies, and any accommodation amount already paid above the deposit is returned. After check-in, shortening the stay or departing earlier does not reduce the confirmed USD 7,500 accommodation total. Exceptional circumstances may be reviewed individually at management's discretion.
What USD 7,500 means across two months
At the USD 150 reference rate, 60 nights have a standard value of USD 9,000. Paying for 50 nights gives an accommodation total of USD 7,500, with 10 complimentary nights worth USD 1,500.
Spread across all 60 occupied nights, the effective accommodation cost is USD 125 per night for the entire home. For two guests, that is USD 62.50 per person per night for accommodation. These figures explain the offer; they do not turn USD 125 into Maafolhey's permanent nightly rate.
Why the whole-home format matters over 60 nights
Maafolhey is not a hotel room or room-by-room guesthouse inventory. The bedrooms, kitchen, living room and dining space belong only to the confirmed travelling party.
The kitchen gives guests the choice to prepare breakfast or a full meal rather than buying every meal outside. The living room provides space beyond the bedrooms. A washing machine reduces reliance on outside laundry services. Over two months, these practical facilities affect independence and everyday cost more than they do on a short stay.
Food, laundry and housekeeping
No breakfast or meal plan is included. Guests may cook in the private kitchen, eat at restaurants on Ukulhas or combine the two. Grocery prices, restaurant prices and stock can change, so this article does not publish a fixed food budget.
A washing machine is available in the home.
Housekeeping is provided throughout the stay. Cleaning and linen changes are available on request; otherwise routine housekeeping is provided every three days.
What two months on Ukulhas can include
Ukulhas is an inhabited local island approximately two kilometres long, and visitors generally move around on foot. Local shops, grocery purchasing, restaurants and cafés make everyday arrangements possible. The island also has a designated bikini beach.
Diving and excursions operate from Ukulhas when services and conditions allow. Direct Maafolhey guests currently receive:
- 10% off Sea Crest Scuba diving;
- 10% off Nala Bistro dining;
- 10% off Nala Experiences excursions.
The relevant provider controls prices, schedules and availability. The privileges do not guarantee particular activities, dive sites or wildlife encounters.
Transfers and arrival
Allow around 90 minutes for the scheduled speedboat between Velana International Airport and Ukulhas. Some services can take longer depending on intermediate stops, weather and sea conditions.
A Maafolhey colleague assists with the scheduled transfer process at the airport. At Ukulhas harbour, a colleague meets guests, helps with luggage, escorts them to Maafolhey and assists with check-in.
Current one-way transfer prices are USD 50 for an adult aged 11 or over, USD 25 for a child aged 3–10, and free for an infant aged 0–2. Transfers remain separate from the accommodation total.
Immigration planning for a 60-night stay

What to budget separately
Beyond the USD 7,500 accommodation price, allow for:
- Green Tax: USD 6 per taxable guest per night; a two-guest, 60-night stay would therefore add USD 720 if both guests are taxable;
- scheduled transfers: charged by passenger and direction;
- food and drink: groceries and restaurant meals according to the chosen dining pattern;
- diving and excursions: after any applicable direct-guest privilege;
- personal spending.
Children under two years of age at check-in are exempt from Green Tax under the current rule. This statutory exemption is separate from the transfer provider's age categories.
Who should consider the two-month offer
The 60-night offer is intended for people who genuinely have two months available and want independence rather than a conventional resort routine. It may suit retired or semi-retired couples, empty nesters, slow travellers, people taking a sabbatical, independently flexible professionals and long-stay divers.
It will not suit every trip. Guests who want a full meal plan, regular island changes or hotel-style room service should compare those requirements directly before deciding.
